How to change the PhpMyAdmin "root" password

Question

I followed the documentation to change the passwords of my PHPMyAdmin by using the following command for the "root" user.

sudo webinoly -mysql-password

But always it returns an error message:

Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)

[ERROR] Unexpected error!

Please help to change the password, I have the root and admin user password from the installation part but the "root" user always failed to log in.

The "admin" user is accessible via the password ( Didn't change yet)

The error message is very clear in the verify output.

For some reason the root MySQL user is failing, I don't know why, but in the most typical case, it fails when people manually change passwords.
