Specific site's cron not running for as long as necessary

Hi & apologies for my naivety here. I have been struggling to get a specific site's cron job to run for long enough. Basically, our function stops executing after approx. 5 minutes. We aren't seeing any errors in WP's debug log. What do I need to change, do you think?
